International Day of Peace

September 21st is the International Day of Peace. On this day every year, the UN calls for a day of non-violence and a 24-hour ceasefire. People and organizations around the world are encouraged to share and discuss ways in which they are striving for peace in their communities through collective engagement. With the myriad challenges facing us this year, the International Day of Peace is a time to celebrate and reflect on the progress that has been made by the United Nations over the last 75 years, civil society organizations and intergenerational, global advocates.
